paul clipson was one of my favorite experimental filmmakers. i stumbled upon his work a couple years ago through liz harris (aka grouper) since they were longtime collaborators and he filmed many of her music videos, and fell in love instantly. his films felt like a warm hug and they changed the way i look at the world. he took his own life yesterday. i feel like i’ve lost a friend
